What is the American-Made Index?

Each year, Cars.com releases its American-Made Index (AMI), which ranks vehicles based on how much of their content, production, and labor is sourced from the United States. The criteria include:

• Final assembly location

• Percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts

• Country of origin for engines and transmissions

• Size of the U.S. manufacturing workforce

To qualify for the list, vehicles must be assembled in the U.S. and meet a minimum threshold for domestic parts content. The goal of the index is to help consumers make informed decisions when looking to support American workers and manufacturing.

Honda’s Top Performers

In 2025,  eight Honda models earned a spot in the Top 20, the most of any automaker. Among the standouts:
